The Year Of Diddy Kong is an event commemorating Diddy Kong's 20th anniversary in 2014. Throughout the year, Nintendo will be releasing games relating to Diddy Kong or involving him, as well as retrospecting on the character's history.

- Diddy Kong: Tropical Freeze- an updated version of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze starring Diddy Kong, set for release in August 2014.
- Donkey Kong Country: Tag Team Tussle- a Wii U game to be released in Fall 2014.
- The Year Of Diddy Kong Sound Selection - a CD featuring music from Diddy Kong-related games, released in November 2014.
